All garments are made of cotton interlock knits which are soft and gentle on baby's delicate skin. Ever So Tiny garments comply with hospital regulations of no strings and/or ties and are designed to be fully monitor accessible.
A baby born prematurely or of a low birth weight will need clothing to stay warm when graduating from the hospital's incubator, and later from the hospital's Neo-Natal Unit to travel home to join the rest of the family.
To prevent heat loss or hypothermia, a baby's clothing should not be too big. Large clothing that fits too loosely does not provide as much warmth as clothing that fits properly. Clothing too big also makes a tiny baby difficult to hold.
The Ever So Tiny Preemie garments are uniquely designed and specific for the tiny baby who may have monitors. The garments look and feel like regularly sized newborn clothing - they are just much smaller.
The garments are both hospital and home monitor compatible, including catheters, and are designed for easy and minimal invasiveness while dressing a tiny baby.
Babies spend most of their time lying on the backs so therefore to prevent abrasion and irritations on a baby's delicate skin, the Ever So Tiny garments are designed with a minimal bulk and seams on the backs.
The gown opens fully down the front and has soft elastic gathers at the hem. The sleepers open completely down both legs since many of the oxygen and pulse monitors are on the soles of the baby's feet. For dressing the tiny babies, these garments are capable of opening completely so the baby can be placed into the garment then the garment can be snapped closed around the baby.
The garments are made of 100% cotton Interlock fabric. Although hand washing is recommended, the garment can be machine washed in cold water/gentle cycle and dried on a cool cycle.
